Anglian Expands Skip Business With HX85A And Grab

East Anglia’s leading multi-service demolition and asbestos removal company is growing its waste handling business, with the purchase of Staffordshire waste management, skip hire and recycling company LW Recycling. To boost productivity at the firm’s Cannock Wood Materials Recycling Facility (MRF), the business has been supplied with a Hyundai HX85A compact excavator, equipped with a Strickland quickhitch and a Tobin sorting grab.

Based in Attleborough, Norfolk, Anglian Demolition & Asbestos was established in 2007 primarily as a demolition and asbestos services company, working across the construction industry. Over the last 20 years the business has expanded, to incorporate waste management, asbestos surveys and removal, scaffolding, earthworks and remediation, along with hazardous waste removal. This has allowed the company to provide clients with a comprehensive range of services.

Waste management now makes up around 40% of the Group’s business, driving growth beyond the firm’s traditional East of England base. Anglian operates a 10-acre dedicated recycling facility near Attleborough, capable of handling a variety of waste streams, including processing metals. The addition of LW Recycling expands the service across Litchfield, Rugeley, Burntwood and Cannock.

The Hyundai HX85A excavator has been supplied by East of England compact dealer Tobin Plant, complete with a rotating sorting grab to handle waste as it arrives at the facility. Weighing in at 8.5-tonnes, the HX85A is powered by a 49.9kW (66.9hp) Stage V engine. This drives a load-sensing hydraulic system with working mode selection to maximise fuel economy.

The machine is offered with a monoboom or a two-piece articulating boom, while a dozer blade provides additional stability for heavy digging and lifting duties. The HX85A also benefits from a large, comfortable operator cab, with a 7” touchscreen monitor that can be used to set auxiliary flow settings for up to six attachments, including the sorting grab.

“We’ve had a number of Hyundais in the past and we’ve known Simon Tobin for a long time,” said Lee Storer, Managing Director at Anglian. “We’ve taken a lot of machines from him over the years.”

Among an extensive fleet of equipment, the company currently operates a 12-tonne crawler excavator from Hyundai and a 52-tonne high-reach demolition machine, that offers a 30m working height

“We try to keep our machines for 4-5 years,” said Mr Storer. “Back-up for us is really important and we know that Simon will provide what we need.”
